Trattoria on the Hill: Experience Authentic Italian Cuisine in Cleveland

Amazing. Accessible through the back door, this is old school Italian at its best. From frutti de mare to veal piccata something for everyone done right.

We brought our two year old here and he started acting up. We were about to ask for the check and boxes so we could leave when one of the lovely staff members offered to take him around the restaurant so we could eat. We really appreciated that gesture and he loved his tour with his new friend. Food was fantastic. The real standout was the service and the wonderful lady who helped us weary parents out. We will return. We didn't catch your name but if you see this, you'll know who we are. You're an angel.

Awesome meal this night in Little Italy! We had dinner at Trattoria Roman Gardens (On the Hill) and it didn't disappoint! We had eaten here once before and had it in our list to revisit. Service was perfect, and love that atmosphere. We ate inside this time. I had Pesto Cavatelli, and Chris had the Veal Piccata. Both delicious and really enjoyed the bruschetta loaded with garlic and fresh tomato and basil. Now one of my personal places to eat in CLE!

Trattoria on the Hill in Little Italy is a gem! The prices are incredibly reasonable for the high-quality pasta they serve. We opted for outdoor seating, and the beautiful plants added a nice, cozy ambiance to our meal. The lobster ravioli and Alfredo are absolute must-tries--so flavorful and rich! I also loved dipping the fresh bread into the ravioli's vodka sauce. The staff was attentive throughout, making the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, this is a strong, reliable establishment in Little Italy that I'll definitely be returning to.

I really enjoyed my experience here at the Tratoria. We were greeted by a friendly valet parking attendant, who was very nice to us. Our waitress was also very friendly and answered all questions we had. The food here was spectacular. For appetizers, we had the Caesar salad and calamari and both are great choices. For the entrée, I had the risotto and it was excellent. The portions here are big, which is always a plus. I had the Tiramisu for desert and I really liked it. The desert servings here are also larger than average. This is a must try restaraunt if you are in Cleveland.

Absolutely love trattoria. Every time I'm visiting Cleveland we come to this spot. Wonderful family restaurant energy and great food. The first time I came, the bartender made us complimentary Harvey wallbangers and played the accordion. Such a fun place.

First time trying this restaurant in Little Italy. Luckily they have their own free parking lot because it can be a struggle to find parking in this busy area. There is a parking attendant who came to the car & opened doors for us. Safe to say they very closely monitor who is parked there to ensure they are dining guests. We were promptly seated and service was quick. The ambiance felt like authentic Italian great for date night or large family dinner. Ordered a carafe of their house red wine, which is meant to be four glasses and we felt this was plenty for 3 of us. We ordered the stuffed hot banana peppers, burrata salad, eggplant Parmesan, & pesto cavatelli. Everything was excellent. They provide a complimentary bread basket, but this was pretty basic bread with a side of tomato sauce. I think toasted bread with olive oil would be better. The stuffed hot peppers are not spicy. They are cooked but not soft. They were pretty good with the crunchy filling. Burrata salad is standard. We enjoyed the spaghetti that came with the eggplant parm. The sauce was flavorful. Finally the pesto cavatelli pasta was just right. A good balance of creamy sauce and a few cherry tomatoes. This was good for 3 of us and we had a little leftover to take home. Good food & service at Trattoria!

Finally got to try Tattoria on the Hill. Upon entering the restaurant you immediately get an old school restaurant vibe, kind've dark, nostalgic ambiance. We were greeted and seated right away. We were brought out refreshing waters and there complementary bread with the best marinara sauce ever tasted. Our server Candice came to our table very fast. While ordering some of the people in our party added and deleted items on there orders and they accommodated them with no hesitation. The restaurant has a good amount of seating and I would say they were about half way full, with the patrons enjoying the nice atmosphere. There was also a patio in the back. We ordered a margarita pizza ( not pictured because my party dug in before I could take one) for an appetizer, which came out in no time. It looked like a tradition Italian style pizza and tasted even better. We placed our orders and they came out in a timely manner. Everything looked amazing. I had the eggplant parmigiana with linguine noodles, it was generous portion for the average person, let me tell you it dazzled my taste buds from first to last bite. Everything was delicious as we taste tested each other's food. We will certainly be back to try other items on the menu. Even though the restaurant says Romanian, it certainly had an Italian ethnic cuisine. So please don't hesitate to stop a Trattoria on the Hill, great place to bring your family and friends.

This is the first restaurant I dined at when I moved to Cleveland. The atmosphere was, and still is, relaxed and welcoming. It felt like going to a close friend or family members home for supper. I've loved coming here ever since, and it may be my favorite restaurant in Little Italy for that reason alone. Every table is greeted with complimentary Italian bread, butter and a tomato bruschetta topping (my favorite) are served on the side. Each menu item I've tried has been fantastic but the gnocchi al burro has my heart.
